West Azerbaijan is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and multilingual province. The Kurdish and Turkish ethnic groups constitute the majority of the province's population. The diversity of ethnicities and religions is such that Urmia, the capital of West Azerbaijan Province, has been dubbed the "city of the rainbow of ethnicities and religions." This diversity of religions and sects, which has become the showcase of the province and especially the city of Urmia, initially brings to mind a kind of peaceful coexistence. However, in reality, the lived experience of officials and Kurdish cultural activists in this province tells a different narrative of this diversity. The fact is that in recent years, events have occurred in West Azerbaijan that have intensified ethnic confrontation. In these confrontations, each side has tried to monopolize the city's image for themselves. This situation in West Azerbaijan Province is not normal or appropriate. It is necessary to examine the causes and reasons for this disproportion and abnormal situation. This situation will be explored using a qualitative approach and the phenomenological method. Therefore, the problem of the present research is the "phenomenological understanding and comprehension of the lived experience of administrative managers and Kurdish cultural activists in West Azerbaijan Province." What is the lived experience of executive managers and Kurdish civil activists regarding ethnic relations in this province? If, from the interviewees' point of view, discrimination exists, what is the mechanism of this discrimination or domination? In the case of discrimination, how can a way out of this problem be achieved?
